Write your meals on a plan and stick it onto the fridge.

I transfer the meals onto a paper plan to put somewhere everyone can see it.  Everyone knows in advance what we are eating and there is no need to decide what to have for tea after a long day at work.

Most meal plans have a variety of recipes so I consider this when planning the week ahead.  For example, Thursdays are busy so I slot in an easy meal.  On Fridays, we like a treat!

Edit your lists to suit your needs

Most  of the lists (unless otherwise stated) are for a family of four.  You can easily change them for more or less people.

You can also make the lists your own to suit the needs of your family.  For example, my son hates quinoa so I always add some rice for him.

I have included all the spices and sauces you need in each recipe (apart from olive oil) but you will probably want to remove those you already have.  Otherwise, you could end up with a cupboard full of cumin!

Add multiple lists at once

Once your lists are loaded up, you can add as many as you want in a single shop.

I have a list of 'essentials' such as milk, eggs, bread that I add to every shop.

For example, you could add a list for weeknights, the essentials list and the Italian Dinner Party (coming!) list.

Order a few weeks in one go

Once your lists are added, you can literally do your shopping in two minutes.  I have done my weekly shop on the tram, at half time during my son's football match and while walking to down the street.

However, my favourite way of doing my shopping is to order several weeks in one go.  I have a regular delivery slot and spend about half an hour ordering a different list for each week in one sitting.  I then don't need to even think of shopping.  It just arrives like clockwork on a Sunday evening.

There is still flexibility

Most of the lists contain four or five meals.  This is because we like to have some more flexibility at weekends.  We use the lists during the week but then weekends are for what we fancy on the day.

Let me know if you would like lists with more meals!

Why Ocado?

When I did my research and staterd shopping in this way, I was unable to find any other online supermarket that offered the option of having saved lists.
